S&B Strategy advises urb-x on growth financing and the search for a strategic partner

Our team advised the owners of urb-x in their search for a strategic growth partner. The transaction was signed in September 2023.

urb-x is a young, innovative company based in Basel, Switzerland, which has developed a sustainable, high-tech construction system for the creation of efficient and safe cycle highways made of wood. The urb-x system is designed to improve cycling infrastructure, particularly in urban areas, thereby increasing safety and reducing travel time for commuters. The aim of the transaction was to gain a strong partner for the further growth of urb-x, which fits seamlessly into the dynamic company environment.

With around 2,000 employees at its sites in several countries, the HASSLACHER Group is one of the largest and leading timber industry companies in Europe and is active worldwide as an innovative supplier of sawn timber, glulam, cross-laminated timber and solid structural timber for modern timber construction.

With urb-x, the future segment of sustainable infrastructure construction is to be further penetrated.
