Our application process
We want to make your start with us as clear and rewarding as possible. That's why we're giving you a transparent overview of our application process – from the first contact to your first day at work with us.
Step 1 - Submit your application
Send us your application documents via e-mail or through our online application form. We review every application carefully and look beyond your CV — we are equally interested in your motivation, personality, and potential.
If we believe there is a strong match, we will contact you promptly to discuss the next steps.
Step 2 - Technical pre-screening
The first conversation takes place via Microsoft Teams and lasts approximately 60 minutes. You will meet a colleague from our Strategy or M&A team to discuss your background, motivation, career journey so far, and expectations of the role.
We will also explore relevant technical topics and experiences to better understand your skills and interests. Naturally, there will be plenty of time for your questions as well - this conversation is an opportunity for both sides to get to know each other.
Step 3 - Onsite interview & case study
If the initial interviews are positive for both sides, we will invite you to an Assessment Day at our office, lasting approximately 2–3 hours. The goal is to give you a realistic insight into our work, culture, and team while allowing us to get to know you better from both a professional and personal perspective.
-
Module 1: Introduction & interview (approx. 45 minutes)
You will meet with members of our team who will introduce S&B, explain the role and responsibilities, and discuss selected technical topics with you.
-
Module 2: Case study (approx. 90 minutes)
You will work on a practical case study related to Strategy or M&A. Following a brief introduction, you will analyse the situation and prepare your recommendations independently. You will then present your findings to the team members, followed by a discussion of your approach, assumptions, and conclusions.
The purpose of the case study is not to test whether you know all the answers. We are primarily interested in how you approach complex problems, structure your thinking, communicate your ideas, and explain your reasoning. We value clear, logical thinking and a transparent problem-solving process.
Throughout the day, you will meet several members of our team to help you gain an authentic impression of S&B and the people you may work with in the future.
Step 4 - Offer & feedback
Following the Assessment Day, we aim to provide feedback as quickly as possible. If we believe there is a strong professional and personal fit, we will be delighted to make you an offer and welcome you to the team.
Step 5 - Your start & onboarding
We are committed to helping you get off to a strong start and feel at home in the team from day one.
Our onboarding program includes:
- A structured introduction to key processes, tools, and stakeholders during your first two weeks.
- A dedicated buddy who will support you both professionally and culturally throughout your onboarding and beyond.
- Regular opportunities to ask questions, share feedback, and gradually take ownership of your responsibilities.
Step 1 - Submit your application
We review every application carefully and look beyond your CV. We are equally interested in your motivation, personality, and potential. If your profile matches what we are looking for, we will contact you promptly regarding the next steps.
Step 2 - Interview & case study
The interview is conducted online, takes approximately 60–90 minutes, and consists of two parts:
Personal Interview
This conversation allows us to get to know each other better. We will discuss your background, motivation, career journey so far, and your expectations of the role and our team. You will also have plenty of opportunities to ask questions, as finding the right fit is important for both sides.
Case Study
During the interview, you will complete a live case study. The case study is designed to help us understand how you approach and structure complex business challenges. We are not looking for perfect answers. Instead, we focus on your analytical thinking, problem-solving approach, communication skills, and ability to explain your reasoning clearly. We value transparency in your thought process and encourage you to share your assumptions and conclusions openly.
Step 3 - Offer & feedback
If we believe there is a strong professional and personal fit, you will typically receive feedback shortly after the interview process. Successful candidates will receive an offer. We look forward to welcoming you to the team!
Step 4 - Your start & onboarding
We are committed to helping you get off to a strong start and feel at home in the team from day one.
- An introduction to key processes, tools, and stakeholders through a series of onboarding sessions during your first two weeks.
- A dedicated buddy who will support you both professionally and culturally throughout your onboarding period and beyond.
- Regular opportunities to ask questions, provide feedback, and gradually take ownership of your responsibilities.
