S&B Strategy advises Aqua Group on the takeover of Scherer Südbaden
Our team advised Aqua Group, a portfolio company of Rantum Capital, on the acquisition of Scherer Südbaden GmbH. The transaction was signed in October 2022.
Aqua Group is a leading national provider of water and fire damage restoration in the Rhine-Main region and southern Germany. The group was founded in 2021 as a buy & build platform to consolidate independent providers with a family business culture. The Aqua Group companies act as a full-service provider from leak detection, drying and removal of water damage to complete restoration after water and fire damage as an exclusive link between insurance companies and claimants. With this acquisition, the Aqua Group is expanding its presence in the Baden region.
With around 80 employees, Scherer Südbaden is a leading water and fire damage restoration company in the Baden region from Karlsruhe to Lörrach. Since its foundation in 1931, Scherer has developed into a full-service provider with long-standing customer relationships. With the takeover by the Aqua Group, Georg Scherer was able to secure his long-term succession and offer his company and his employees a sustainable perspective.

With over 12 years of experience as a managing director, consultant and manager focussing on corporate and investor acquisitions, he is a proven expert in M&A – both for buy- and sell-side mandates. Patrick gained extensive experience in the deals division of PwC, on the management board of Hubert Burda Media and in the context of M&A and strategy projects for national and international clients in Europe and Asia. Patrick completed his Master’s degree in Business Administration at the Amsterdam Business School.
